Holiday time, where kids are home 24*7 and have their food demands ready. This weekend, my naughty one demanded road side food ‘vada pav’. However, I convinced him to be home and I shall make one for him. The outside oil and food is not
entertained by me much especially street food. For all those mothers who love to cook for their child any dish at home try this out :
½ kg boiled potatoes.
1tbsp. garlic, coriander, oil, uddad dal fried.
½ tsp – turmeric, chilli paste, mustard seed.
1 cup besan
Handful of curry leaves and salt to taste.
Oil for frying
Mash the boiled potatoes with hands , add finely chopped coriander, salt.
Take a pan with 1tsp. oil, add mustard seeds as they splutter add curry leaves , chilli paste , turmeric , uddad dal.
Turn of the flame after 1 min and pour this mix into the mashed potatoes.
Mix them well and make medium circles / balls.
Then add besan into a bowl , salt , water and make a semi thick paste which sticks to your potato balls.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan , dip the balls into besan mix , coat them properly from all sides add to the oil and deep fry. Remove once golden brown.
Serve it with pav and ketchup to your children.
