Trip from Pune to Visakhapatnam by Train

Being a school teacher I have great attachment with children and my time flies when I am at my work place. Many a times it’s a very hectic task to deal with kids, but I enjoy my job. Once in a while I prefer taking breaks from my schedule and plan out a trip with my family.

I was quite excited for my Trip from Pune to Visakhapatnam and hence I took leave from my school. Being the lady of the house I am quite particular about managing the finances efficiently and hence I booked the tickets after considering all the possible routes and means of travel.

Pune is at a distance of approximately 996 kilometers from Visakhapatnam. A road trip takes round about 16 hours and 55 minutes to reach the destination. Travelling via train takes around 22 hours and 38 minutes to reach the same. There are a couple of routes to travel between the two places.

VSKP Superfast Express

A railway journey from Pune junction to Duvvada is quite convenient and cost effective as the train fare would be around Rs 1400 per head. Being a nature lover another additional reason why I prefer travelling by train apart from the budget is that the total carbon emission in travelling via this mode of transport is much less than a road trip or air travels. So I booked our tickets on the LTT VSKP superfast express that would drop us directly to the Visakhapatnam railway station (VSKP) from our boarding station i.e. Pune junction (PUNE).

For those who prefer bus travel another route from Pune to Visakhapatnam is via Hyderabad. The bus fare is around Rs 1400 per person and takes about 19 hours 20 minutes to reach Visakhapatnam. One can board a bus from Pune and reach Hyderabad in duration of 8 hours and 50 minutes.

Hereafter he has to board another bus that would take him to Visakhapatnam in around 10 hours and 30 minutes. For those who prefer saving their time can also take the airways to reach Visakhapatnam in just 3 hours and 50 minutes. Although it is a bit expensive affair since the tickets cost about Rs 9907 for one side journey. One can board a plane from Lohegaon and reach Kempegowda international airport in merely 1 hour 25 minutes. Hereafter he can board a flight and reach the airport at Visakhapatnam in 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Despite other options train travel suited best with my budget and time requirements. Moreover the glimpses of scenic beauty that catches the eye when one peep out of the train window is the best thing to be enjoyed via train travel. During the whole journey my daughter Sanvi was very excited and happy and that gave me even more delight.
